USAR Disaster Response Exercise Connecticut 2002

From Sunday, October 6 thru Thursday, October 10, 2002.

The 'Disaster Response Exercise' was organized by 'Rescue Training Associates', a training organization based in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Axel Maarschalk from Zumro ResQ and Bill Latta from ResQ Tek joined the exercise and summarized the following impression:

Monday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 8:
Two hundred men were divided into 10 groups of 20 people each.
The groups were then diverted to the different exercise enviroments,
Axel Maarschalk and Bill Latta where situated at the exercises
involving the NT ResQ Bags.

Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10:
Designed to represent a real-life mobilization in an emergency, the 24 hour operation began with a mobilization at 3 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2002. After a 30 minute ride to the collapse site, the operation at the site in Bridgeport, CT began at 8 pm, with 8 teams running thru the various evolutions of the first two days of training.
The NT ResQ Bags were up to the task, giving the rescuers the
needed safety, stability, and lift capacity that would be needed
in a real-life tragedy.

Zumro NT ResQ Lifting Bags assist in recovering airplane Sandra Bullock during snowstorm!

What do the Zumro New Technology Rescue Bags and Sandra Bullock (known from the movies Speed I and II, the Net) have in common? Well, that much that the NT Lifting Bags saved assist in recovering her plane because her private jet was blocking the runway.
Fortunately, no one was injured.

The private plane of Sandra Bullock suddenly crashed just outside the runway near Wyoming while landing in a heavy snowstorm. The plane was blocking the runway, but couldn’t be removed. The Fire Department rushed into the crashscene and tried to lift the plane so the plane could be moved to another place. As there was only a very low insertion height the rescuers stabilized the plane with the Zumro New Technology Lifting Bags. These Lifting Bags are so flat; they just have to be slide underneath the plane to lift it up. After having achieved enough space the bags were left in place for stabilization while snow was removed to access sling points. The rescuers working on the airports have recovered many planes with this method of lifting only this time it became quite special when saving a celebrity’s plane!

Taipei Int. Disaster Prevention, Rescue and Safety Expo 2001

Liberty Times, Taiwan, date 6 january 2001.

During the exhibition period, there were many visitors and reporters visiting the booth of Boss Motor. As the reporter requested, Mr Maarschalk and Mr Melvyn hae showed to operate the air bag to them.
So the Liberty Times published the picture and introduced the ResQ Air Bag to be very useful rescue equipment in the accident environment.

The ResQ 241 'Super Blade' features the most powerful "bite" in the industry.
It cuts (up to 35mm round steel), bends, pushes and displaces steel quickly and effectively.

The ResQ 410 is another new member in our New Technology series.
While his big brother "The Great White" bites his way through, is the 410 Heavy Duty Frontliner ideal for tasks that require cutting and spreading at the same time.
Please welcome our new bread of combination ResQ tools.
